  • Water-Year Summary reports summarize a year of hydrologic data in a printer-friendly format.
  • For water years 2014 onward, choose a water year and parameter and an on-demand Water-Year Summary report will be generated.
  • For water years 2006 through 2013, choose a water year and an Annual Water Data Report will be provided.
  • For water years 2005 and earlier, Annual Water Data Reports may be available in digital format.
  • Not all sites have reports available for every water year.

USGS Water-Year Summary 2023
LOCATION - Lat 25°45'40", long 80°43'34" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in T.54 S., R.36 E., Miami-Dade County, FL, Hydrologic Unit 03090202, on west bank of spillway, 100 ft southwest of control structure 12-C, and 33 mi west of Miami. No section could be determined from existing maps.
DRAINAGE AREA - Indeterminate.
PERIOD OF RECORD - April 1963 to September 1963, October 1965 to September 1976 (gage heights only), October 1963 to September 1965, October 1976 to current year. See REMARKS.
GAGE - Satellite data collection platform with water-stage shaft encoders for upstream and downstream stages. Datum of gage is National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929 and 1.51 feet below North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD 88). To maintain consistency with the historical record, data recorded at NGVD 1929 does not reflect the updated elevation reported by NGS in 1992, which is 0.018 ft lower.
COOPERATION - U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, USGS Greater Everglades Priority Ecosystems Science, and National Park Service. Gate-opening records provided by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
REMARKS - Prior to October, 2005, daily mean for upstream gage height published under 02289040. Station is one of several located downstream from the control structures in Levee 29 at Tamiami Canal. Gage record is primarily used to determine discharge through control structure 12-C. Discharge is the total discharge through the S-12-C structure, from Conservation Area 3A. The daily discharge computed from relation between discharge, head, and gate-openings when flow is controlled by gates and computed by relation between stage and discharge under uncontrolled conditions. Since March 16, 1990, data collection platform. For discharge records prior to 1976, missing periods were fragmentary or missing from the files of the U.S. Geological Survey. October 1963 through September 1985, S12-C discharge was not published separately but is available in the NWIS database. The S-12-C discharge was part of the combined flow (S12 A,B, C, D) published under 02289040 TAMIAMI C OUTLETS L67A TO 40 MI BND NR MIAMI, FL for the water years 1963 through 2005. Some records are fragmentary because they were stored based upon records available in the files of the USGS. Starting 1986 water year the individual discharge for S12-C was published separately under 02289041.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - UPSTREAM STAGE: Maximum gage height, 11.87 ft Dec. 21, 1994; minimum, 5.17 ft June 19, 1989. DOWNSTREAM STAGE: Maximum gage height, 11.86 ft Dec. 21, 1994; minimum, 4.87 ft June 19, 20, 1989.
