  • Water-Year Summary reports summarize a year of hydrologic data in a printer-friendly format.
  • For water years 2014 onward, choose a water year and parameter and an on-demand Water-Year Summary report will be generated.
  • For water years 2006 through 2013, choose a water year and an Annual Water Data Report will be provided.
  • For water years 2005 and earlier, Annual Water Data Reports may be available in digital format.
  • Not all sites have reports available for every water year.

USGS Water-Year Summary 2023
251355080312800 JOE BAY 2E NEAR KEY LARGO, FL
LOCATION - Lat 25°13'57.45", long 80°31'29.52" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in T.60 S., R.38 E., Miami-Dade County, FL, Hydrologic Unit 03090202, located on the east side of Joe Bay on the left bank, approximately 10 mi northwest of Key Largo.
DRAINAGE AREA - Indeterminate.
REVISIONS HISTORY - Revised unit value discharge for the 2005 and 2006 water years superseding those published in WDR FL-05-2A and WDR-US-2006, site 251355080312800.   Figures of gage-height, in ft NAVD88, for February 26, 2018 at 11:45 and March 16, 2018 at 01:45 has been revised on September 6, 2018.  Erroneous data were removed.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - July 2001 to current year.
GAGE - Satellite data collection platform with acoustic Doppler velocity meter acoustic stage sensor, and vented pressure stage sensor. Datum of gage is North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD 88).
REMARKS - Discharge and gage height records are available in the files of the U.S. Geological Survey. Discharge and gage height 15 minute data can also be accessed online at http://sofia.usgs.gov/. Daily values of gage height are available online at http://waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis. Daily mean discharge is not published. The discharge for this station is more affected by wind than astronomical tides. Discharge at wind-driven sites may require a different filter (subtidal) than the Godin low-pass filter.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD -
DISCHARGE: Maximum positive discharge, 299e ft³/s Nov. 8, 2020; maximum negative, 344 ft³/s Oct. 24, 2005.
GAGE HEIGHT: Maximum gage height, 3.18 ft. Oct. 24, 2005; minimum, -1.68 ft. Feb. 6, 2009.
WATER-QUALITY RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - SALINITY: May 1999 to current year. SPECIFIC CONDUCTANCE: October 2010 to current year. WATER TEMPERATURE: May 1999 to current year.
INSTRUMENTATION - Water-quality monitor.
REMARKS - Elevation of the salinity and water temperature sensor is approximately -2.75 ft NAVD 88. Prior to September 15, 2010 salinity was computed directly from specific conductance using a conversion within the continuous water quality monitor. From September 15, 2010 to current, salinity is computed from corrected from specific conductance data using a rating in the NWIS database. Salinity and water temperature records are available in files of the U.S. Geological Survey. Salinity and water temperature 15 minute data can also be accessed online at http://sofia.usgs.gov/. Daily values of salinity and water temperature are available online at http://waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - SALINITY: Maximum recorded, 51.6 ppt Aug. 23, 2015; minimum recorded, 0.2 ppt Oct. 26, 1999, Sept. 13, 14, 2003, Sept. 29, 30, 2010, Oct. 1-8, 2010, Aug. 12-14, 2012, and July 18-22, 2013. SPECIFIC CONDUCTANCE: Maximum recorded, 74,500 uS/cm @ 25°C Aug. 23, 2015; minimum recorded, 450 uS/cm @ 25°C Oct. 1-3, 2010. WATER TEMPERATURE: Maximum recorded, 39.0°C June 26, 2019; minimum recorded, 5.8°C Jan. 11, 2010.
