REVISIONS HISTORY - Revisions: Unit values discharge data for Water Year 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007 have been revised,  superseding those published at http://sofia.usgs.gov/. WDR-US-2008, site 25223008102130: 2004; 2005; 2006; 2007, (Extremes records). Daily values are available online at http://waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - March 2001 to current year. See REMARKS.
GAGE - Satellite data collection platform with water-stage shaft encoder, acoustic Doppler velocity meter. Datum of gage is North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD 88).
REMARKS - Streamflow at this site is significantly affected by tides. Daily mean discharge was computed from filtered unit value discharge data using a Godin low-pass filter to remove principal tidal frequencies from unit values. Prior to March 2001, arbitrary stage and discharge records were collected by the Tampa office and have been published on the USGS South Florida Information Access Web Page but are not included in this Site Data Sheet. By convention, the U.S. Geological Survey has established ebb (seaward ) flows as positive flows and flood (landward) flows as negative flows. Discharge and gage height 15 minute data can also be accessed online at http://sofia.usgs.gov/. Daily values are available online at http://waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - DISCHARGE: Maximum positive discharge (unfiltered), 10,500 ft³/s Sept. 15, 18, 2001; maximum negative (unfiltered), 26,000 ft³/s Oct. 24, 2005. GAGE HEIGHT: Maximum gage height, 4.17 ft Oct. 24, 2005; minimum, -3.31 ft Jan. 21, 2008.
WATER-QUALITY RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - SALINITY: March 2001 to December 2014. SPECIFIC CONDUCTANCE: October 2009 to December 2014. WATER TEMPERATURE: March 2001 to December 2014.
INSTRUMENTATION - Water-quality monitor with single mid-depth sensor.
REMARKS - Salinity is computed from corrected specific conductance data using a rating in the NWIS database. Salinity and water temperature sensor located at -3.3 ft NAVD 88. Water temperature and salinity records are available in files of the U.S. Geological Survey. Water temperature and salinity 15 minute data can also be accessed online at http://sofia.usgs.gov/. Daily values are available online at http://waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - SALINITY: Maximum recorded, 37.1 ppt May 9, 2009; minimum recorded, 0.3 ppt Sept. 24, 2005, October 10, 11, 2005. SPECIFIC CONDUCTANCE: Maximum recorded, 55,100 uS/cm @ 25°C June 17, 2011; minimum recorded, 1,100 uS/cm @ 25°C Sept. 28, 2013. WATER TEMPERATURE: Maximum recorded, 33.7°C June 8, 2010; minimum recorded, 11.0°C Jan. 11, 2010.
