  • Water-Year Summary reports summarize a year of hydrologic data in a printer-friendly format.
  • For water years 2014 onward, choose a water year and parameter and an on-demand Water-Year Summary report will be generated.
  • For water years 2006 through 2013, choose a water year and an Annual Water Data Report will be provided.
  • For water years 2005 and earlier, Annual Water Data Reports may be available in digital format.
  • Not all sites have reports available for every water year.

USGS Water-Year Summary 2024
253047080555600 UPSTREAM BROAD RIVER NEAR EVERGLADES CITY, FL
LOCATION - Lat 25°30'04.65", long 80°55'56" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in T.56 S., R.32 E., Monroe County, FL, Hydrologic Unit 03090202, Big Lostman's Bay Quadrangle, right bank of Broad River, upstream of Camp Lonesome, 27 mi north of Flamingo.
DRAINAGE AREA - Indeterminate.
REVISIONS HISTORY - Unit values discharge for the 2007 water year have been revised superseding those published at http://sofia.usgs.gov/. Daily value mean filtered discharge was revised for December 19-22, 2016 and February 10, 2017. Missing record was back-filled.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - GAGE HEIGHT: September 2003 to current year. DISCHARGE: September 2003 to current year.
GAGE - Satellite data collection platform with shallow-vented pressure transducer and acoustic Doppler velocity meter. Datum of gage is North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD 88).
REMARKS - Streamflow at this site is affected by astronomical tides. Daily mean discharge was computed from filtered unit value discharge data. The Godin low-pass filter was used to remove principal tidal frequencies from unit values. Positive flow (ebb tide) is generally to the southwest direction and negative discharge (flood tide) to the northeast. Discharge and gage height records are available in files of the U.S. Geological Survey. Discharge and gage height 15 minute data can also be accessed online at http://sofia.usgs.gov/. Daily values are available online at http://waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - DISCHARGE: Maximum positive discharge 254 ft³/s (unfiltered) Sept. 10, 2017; maximum negative, 106 ft³/s (unfiltered) June 1, 2005. GAGE HEIGHT: Maximum gage height, 2.38 ft Sept. 13, 2017; minimum, 2.38 ft below NAVD88, Jan. 4, 2008.
WATER-QUALITY RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - SALINITY (TOP): October 2003 to January 2007. Discontinued. SALINITY (BOTTOM): September 2003 to September 2011. Discontinued. SPECIFIC CONDUCTANCE (BOTTOM): October 2009 to September 2011. Discontinued. WATER TEMPERATURE (TOP): October 2003 to January 2007. Discontinued. WATER TEMPERATURE (BOTTOM): September 2003 to September 2011. Discontinued.
INSTRUMENTATION - Water-quality monitor.
REMARKS - Prior to September 1, 2010 salinity was computed directly from specific conductance using a conversion within the continuous water quality monitor. From September 1, 2010 to September 2011, salinity is computed from corrected specific conductance data using a rating in the NWIS database. Salinity and water temperature (BOTTOM) sensor located at -3.38 ft NAVD 88. Salinity and water temperature records are available in files of the U.S. Geological Survey. Salinity and water temperature 15 minute data can also be accessed online at http://sofia.usgs.gov/. Daily values of salinity and water temperature are available online at http://waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - SALINITY (TOP): Maximum recorded, 20.8 ppt June 1, 2005; minimum recorded, 0.1 ppt (corrected), July 21-23, Aug. 21, 30, 31, Sept. 16, 2006. SALINITY (BOTTOM): Maximum recorded, 23.4 ppt May 18, 2011; minimum recorded, 0.1 ppt (corrected), July 21, 22, Aug. 30, 31, 2006, Aug. 13-16, 2007. SPECIFIC CONDUCTANCE (BOTTOM): Maximum recorded, 37,000 uS/cm @ 25°C May 18, 2011; minimum recorded, 350 uS/cm @ 25°C Sept. 1, 2011.
