The daily maximum and minimum water level values for groundwater wells after September 30, 2023 are no longer being displayed on NWISWeb. However, these values can be determined using the instantaneous values that are available through the Time-Series: Current/Historical Observations option in the available data dropdown box for the station.

  • Water-Year Summary reports summarize a year of hydrologic data in a printer-friendly format.
  • For water years 2014 onward, choose a water year and parameter and an on-demand Water-Year Summary report will be generated.
  • For water years 2006 through 2013, choose a water year and an Annual Water Data Report will be provided.
  • For water years 2005 and earlier, Annual Water Data Reports may be available in digital format.
  • Not all sites have reports available for every water year.

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD -
DISCHARGE: June 1958 to current year.
GAGE-HEIGHT: October 1999 to current year.
GAGE - Satellite telemetry with a water-stage recorder and continuous water-quality monitor. Datum of gage is 764.13 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Prior to May 27, 1963, water-stage recorder located at site 1,000 feet downstream at same datum.
COOPERATION - Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Environmental Protection Division; City of Atlanta.
REMARKS - Gage-height records are generally good. Discharge records are generally fair except for estimated discharges, which are poor. Additional details on the accuracy of the records can be obtained by contacting the USGS South Atlantic Water Science Center at gs-w-ga_nwisweb_data_inquiries@usgs.gov.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 14,600 cfs, September 16, 2004; maximum gage-height, 23.70 feet, backwater from Chattahoochee River, September 21, 2009; minimum daily discharge, 3.1 cfs, October 5, 2008.

For period 10/01/2018-09/30/2019: Specific conductance, pH, water temperature and dissolved oxygen record is rated fair. Turbidity record is rated poor.

Prior to October 1, 2004, turbidity data were published using parameter code 00076: turbidity, water, unfiltered, NTU (Nephelometric Turbidity Units). Data for parameter code 63680 (turbidity) were collected using a probe with the following specifications: turbidity, water, monochrome near infra-red LED light, 780-900 nm, detection angle 90 +/-2.5 degrees, FNU (Formazin Nephelometric Units). Field determinations of discharge, microbiology, gage height, specific conductance, pH, water temperature, turbidity, air temperature, and dissolved oxygen are by the U.S. Geological Survey.
