This gage was destroyed during the flood that occurred on September 13, 2016. The channel conditions at the site where the gage was located at that time are still too unstable to reinstall the gage there. Data being reported now is for the stream location at the Iao Valley Road Bridge at Kepaniwai Park. The stage numbers reported are the approximate maximum depth of the stream under the bridge. These data are being reported for use in flood warnings. It is hoped that the gage can be reinstalled at its original site, about 2,000 feet upstream, later this year.
