LOCATION - Lat 38°33'51", long 82°57'08" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Greenup County, KY, Hydrologic Unit 05090103, on downstream left wingwall of bridge on State Highway 7, 100 feet downstream from Lick Run, 0.4 miles upstream from White Oak Creek, 6.5 miles west of Greenup, and at mile 28.1.
DRAINAGE AREA - 242 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - August 1940 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder with telemetry. Datum of gage is 547.14 feet above NGVD of 1929.
COOPERATION - Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet.
REMARKS - Occasional diversion at low flow caused by withdrawal of water for cooling purposes by gas transmission plant upstream of station.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 37,000 ft³/s, May 3, 2010, gage height 24.40 ft.
