LOCATION - Lat 38°23'22", long 84°32'36" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Scott County, KY, Hydrologic Unit 05100205, on left upstream bank, 0.2 miles west of Sadieville, and 5.8 miles upstream from Little Eagle Creek. Records include flow of Spoon Branch.
DRAINAGE AREA - 42.9 mi². 42.6 sq. miles (including that of Spoon Branch)
REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 1505: 1943(M), 1945(M), 1948(M). WSP 1555: Drainage area.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - June 1941 to September 1975 (discontinued as a continuous-record station; converted to a crest-stage partial record station). October 1956 to September 1960 published as Big Eagle Creek at Sadieville. Miscellanous measurements October 1975 to September 2011. September 2011 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage for peak verification. Datum of gage is 764.88 NGVD of 1929.
COOPERATION - Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet
REMARKS - 10/01/2014-09/30/2015: Records good except for those estimated which are poor. Diversion from gage pool above station for municipal supply of Sadieville. Pumping station located approximately 200 feet north of Eagle Creek.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood in August 1932, reached a stage of about 22 feet, from floodmarks.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 9,870 ft³/s, Mar. 19, 1943, gage height 21.96 ft.
