03292500 SOUTH FORK BEARGRASS CREEK AT LOUISVILLE, KY
LOCATION - Lat 38°12'41", long 85°42'09" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Jefferson County, KY, Hydrologic Unit 05140101, on right bank, 20 feet downstream of Trevilian Way Bridge at Louisville, 4.9 miles upstream from Middle Fork Beargrass Creek, and at mile 6.5.
DRAINAGE AREA - 17.2 mi².

41% of the basin's land surface is impermeable to water infiltration.

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1939 to September 1940, August 1944 to September 1953, October 1954 to September 1983 (high water records only, October 1962 to June 1970), and June 1988 to current year. Monthly discharge only for October to December 1939, published in WSP 1305.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 448.60 feet above mean sea level (NGVD 1929), or 445.60 feet, Louisville city datum. Prior to October 29, 1953, at datum 5.00 feet higher. October 29, 1953, to June 24, 1970, at datum 3.00 feet higher. Prior to April 8, 1994, gage located 125 feet upstream at same datum.
COOPERATION - Louisville and Jefferson County Metropolitan Sewer District.
REMARKS - Records fair except for estimated discharges which are poor.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood of March 19, 1943 reached a stage of 18.1 feet, present datum, from information furnished by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Louisville District.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 5,290 ft³/s, March 2, 1997, gage height, 17.81 ft.
