LOCATION - Lat 32°30'01", long 92°07'11" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Ouachita Parish, LA, Hydrologic Unit 08040207, near center span on downstream side of bridge on Coleman Avenue (Desiard St) at West Monroe, and 0.5 mi downstream from U.S. Highway 80 bridge.
DRAINAGE AREA - 15,298 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - Discharge for the period Oct. 3, 2015, to Oct. 8, 2015, was revised on Aug. 9, 2019 based on the re-evaluation of period of record low discharge by technical specialists.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - April 2007 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and acoustic velocity meter. Datum of gage is 30.80 ft above NAVD of 1988.
COOPERATION - City of West Monroe, Louisiana.
REMARKS - Records fair above 5,000 ft³/s and poor below. Considerable regulation by 5 reservoirs in Arkansas, combined capacity, 3,107,880 acre-ft and a series of navigation locks and dams. Satellite telemetry at station.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood of May 4, 1991 reached a stage of 50.48 ft. (Corps of Engineers station Ouachita River at Monroe, LA).
