The streamgaging station, Plum Island River at Plum Island, MA (42475200491701), was discontinued October 1, 2017 due to insufficient funds. This station has operated continuously since August 2015 and has provided river stage and discharge data to numerous Federal, State, and local water-management agencies to monitor and manage water resources.

interested in providing the additional funds needed to continue operation of
this streamflow gaging station,

LOCATION--Lat 42°14’05", long
70°52’21", Plymouth County, Hydrologic Unit 01090001, on
left bank, 15 ft upstream from Leavitt Street bridge, and 1 mi upstream
from mouth at Hingham.
DRAINAGE AREA--14.1 mi2.
PERIOD OF RECORD--April 2006 to current year. Water-quality records: Water years 1999, 2000.
GAGE--Water-stage recorder with satellite telemeter. Elevation of gage, about 15 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929, from topographic map.
REMARKS--Flow affected by upstream surface- and ground-water withdrawals and by occasional regulation by millponds.
