The streamgaging station, Plum Island River at Plum Island, MA (42475200491701), was discontinued October 1, 2017 due to insufficient funds. This station has operated continuously since August 2015 and has provided river stage and discharge data to numerous Federal, State, and local water-management agencies to monitor and manage water resources.

interested in providing the additional funds needed to continue operation of
this streamflow gaging station,

LOCATION--Lat 42°06’02", long
70°49’23", Plymouth County, Hydrologic Unit 01090002, on
right bank at downstream side of Elm Street Bridge, 0.3 mi upstream
from Iron Mine Brook, and 1 mi southwest of Hanover.
DRAINAGE AREA--30.3 mi2.
PERIOD OF RECORD--Discharge: July 1966 to current year.
Water-quality records: Water years 1970–71.
GAGE--Data Collection Platform with satellite telemeter. Datum of gage is 3.16 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929.
REMARKS--Some regulation by mills and by Wampatuck, Indian Head, Maquan, and other ponds upstream.
COOPERATION BY--Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation, Office of Water Resources.
