The streamgaging station, Plum Island River at Plum Island, MA (42475200491701), was discontinued October 1, 2017 due to insufficient funds. This station has operated continuously since August 2015 and has provided river stage and discharge data to numerous Federal, State, and local water-management agencies to monitor and manage water resources.

interested in providing the additional funds needed to continue operation of
this streamflow gaging station,

LOCATION--Lat 41°56’30", long
70°37’23", Plymouth County, Hydrologic Unit 01090004, on
left bank at Rt 3A bridge (Warren Avenue), 0.1 mi upstream from mouth,
and 2 mi southeast of Plymouth.
DRAINAGE AREA--14.7 mi2.
PERIOD OF RECORD--September 2006 to current year.
GAGE--Data Collection Platform with satellite telemeter. Elevation of gage, about 3 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929, from topographic map.
REMARKS--Flow affected by upstream withdrawals for municipal water supplies. Stage may be affected by occasional high tidal surges..
COOPERATION BY--Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation, Office of Water Resources.
