The streamgaging station, Plum Island River at Plum Island, MA (42475200491701), was discontinued October 1, 2017 due to insufficient funds. This station has operated continuously since August 2015 and has provided river stage and discharge data to numerous Federal, State, and local water-management agencies to monitor and manage water resources.

interested in providing the additional funds needed to continue operation of
this streamflow gaging station,

LOCATION--Lat 41°41’56", long
70°06’38", Barnstable County, Hydrologic Unit 01090002, on
right bank downstream side of bridge on Rt. 6 at North Harwich.
DRAINAGE AREA--9.4 mi2.
PERIOD OF RECORD--June 1966 to September 1988, September 2007 to current year.
GAGE--Data Collection Platform with satellite telemeter. Datum of gage is 10 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929, from topographic map.
REMARKS--Occasional regulation by cranberry bog upstream. This stream drains from a ground-water basin which is larger than, and not coincident with, the surface-water basin.
