The streamgaging station, Plum Island River at Plum Island, MA (42475200491701), was discontinued October 1, 2017 due to insufficient funds. This station has operated continuously since August 2015 and has provided river stage and discharge data to numerous Federal, State, and local water-management agencies to monitor and manage water resources.

interested in providing the additional funds needed to continue operation of

42’41", Worcester County, Hydrologic Unit 01090003, on right
bank 800 ft downstream from dam at outlet of Hovey Pond at North
Grafton and 0.3 mi upstream from Bummett Brook.
DRAINAGE AREA--25.6 mi2.
PERIOD OF RECORD--October 1939 to current year.
REVISED RECORDS--WDR MA-RI-84-1: drainage area.
GAGE--Data Collection Platform with satellite telemeter. Elevation of gage is 335 ft above sea level, from topographic map. Prior to Dec. 7, 1939, staff gage at same site and datum.
REMARKS--Occasional regulation by Lake Quinsigamond 2.3 mi upstream and by ponds upstream.
