The streamgaging station, Plum Island River at Plum Island, MA (42475200491701), was discontinued October 1, 2017 due to insufficient funds. This station has operated continuously since August 2015 and has provided river stage and discharge data to numerous Federal, State, and local water-management agencies to monitor and manage water resources.

interested in providing the additional funds needed to continue operation of
this streamflow gaging station,

LOCATION--Lat 41° 37'36", long 71° 37'59",
Kent County, Hydrologic Unit 01090004, on left bank at downstream side
of bridge on State Highway 3 and 0.2 mi south of Nooseneck, and 0.9 mi
upstream from mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA--8.23 mi2.
PERIOD OF RECORD--Discharge: water years 1964-81, March 2007 to current year. Discharge measurements made in water years 1961-63 and 1993-98.
Water-quality records: Water years 1963, 1965-72, and 1975-81.
GAGE--Data Collection Platform with telephone telemeter. Datum of gage is 265 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929, from topographic map.
