The streamgaging station, Plum Island River at Plum Island, MA (42475200491701), was discontinued October 1, 2017 due to insufficient funds. This station has operated continuously since August 2015 and has provided river stage and discharge data to numerous Federal, State, and local water-management agencies to monitor and manage water resources.

interested in providing the additional funds needed to continue operation of
this streamflow gaging station,

LOCATION--Lat 41° 37'48", long 71° 28'44",
Washington County, Hydrologic Unit 01090004, on right bank at
downstream side of private bridge, 250 ft downstream of Fry Brook, 600
ft downstream of State Rt. 402, 0.75 mi east of Frenchtown, and 3.25 mi
upstream from mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA--16.0 mi2.
PERIOD OF RECORD--Discharge: April 2007 to current year.
GAGE--Data Collection Platform with satellite telemeter. Datum of gage is 25 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929, from topographic map.
REMARKS--Flow affected by upstream water withdrawals.
COOPERATION BY--Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management.
