The streamgaging station, Plum Island River at Plum Island, MA (42475200491701), was discontinued October 1, 2017 due to insufficient funds. This station has operated continuously since August 2015 and has provided river stage and discharge data to numerous Federal, State, and local water-management agencies to monitor and manage water resources.

interested in providing the additional funds needed to continue operation of

01090004, on right bank 45 ft upstream from Old Forge Dam in North
Kingstown, 1.5 mi south of East Greenwich, and 2.5 mi upstream from
DRAINAGE AREA--22.9 mi2.
PERIOD OF RECORD--August 1940 to current year. Prior to October 1977, published as "Potowomut River."
Water-quality records: water years 1977-81.
GAGE--Data Collection Platform with satellite telemeter. Datum of gage is 5.42 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929.
REMARKS--Flow affected by diversions for municipal supply of East Greenwich, North Kingstown, Warwick, and Quonset Point (formerly U.S. Naval establishment).
