The streamgaging station, Plum Island River at Plum Island, MA (42475200491701), was discontinued October 1, 2017 due to insufficient funds. This station has operated continuously since August 2015 and has provided river stage and discharge data to numerous Federal, State, and local water-management agencies to monitor and manage water resources.

01080203, on left bank 0.8 mi east of Charlemont, 2.5 mi downstream
from Chickley River, and at mile 24.5.
DRAINAGE AREA--361 mi2.
PERIOD OF RECORD--Discharge: June 1913 to current year.

GAGE--Data Collection Platform with satellite telemeter. Datum of gage is 516.93 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988.
REMARKS--Flow regulated by Somerset Reservoir, since 1924 by Harriman Reservoir, and by several powerplants upstream. Telephone and satellite gage-height telemeter at station.
