The streamgaging station, Plum Island River at Plum Island, MA (42475200491701), was discontinued October 1, 2017 due to insufficient funds. This station has operated continuously since August 2015 and has provided river stage and discharge data to numerous Federal, State, and local water-management agencies to monitor and manage water resources.

interested in providing the additional funds needed to continue operation of
this streamflow gaging station,

73°20’03", Berkshire County, Hydrologic Unit 01100005, on
right bank beneath bridge on U.S. Highway 7, 1.3 mi north of Ashley
Falls, 2.5 mi downstream from Ironworks Brook, and 3.1 mi upstream from
DRAINAGE AREA--465 mi2.
PERIOD OF RECORD--Discharge March 1994 to September 1996, October 2007 to current year.

Suspended Sediment records: March 1994 to September 1996.
GAGE--Data Collection Platform with satellite telemeter. Elevation of gage is 650 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929, from topographic map.
