The streamgaging station, Plum Island River at Plum Island, MA (42475200491701), was discontinued October 1, 2017 due to insufficient funds. This station has operated continuously since August 2015 and has provided river stage and discharge data to numerous Federal, State, and local water-management agencies to monitor and manage water resources.

interested in providing the additional funds needed to continue operation of
this streamflow gaging station,

upstream from bridge on State Highway 2 at Williamstown and 0.8 mi
upstream from mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA--42.6 mi2.
PERIOD OF RECORD--Discharge: September 1949 to current year.
Water-quality records: Water years 1967–69.
GAGE--Data Collection Platform with satellite telemeter. Datum of gage is 610.28 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988.
