The precipitation data for this station are temporary and will only be displayed for 120 days. Time series data will NOT be available for retrieval following the 120-day display period. Although the instrumentation is calibrated at least once per year, the temporary classification means that documented routine inspections and other quality assurance measures are not performed that would make the data acceptable for archival, retrieval, or future use in general scientific or interpretive studies.
Gage is operated in conjunction with a co-located streamflow gage (station 01042500).
Precipitation data at this station are collected with a weighing bucket precipitation gage. An 8-inch collection bucket instrument uses weight to calculate precipitation to the nearest 0.1 inches. Sudden drops and rises in the cumulative precipitation are due to USGS staff servicing the collection bucket. Occasional 0.1 inch oscillations in the data are due to the sensitivity of the weighing sensor to fully resolve the data to the nearest 0.1 inch precision. Occasional 0.1 inch drops in the data are due to evaporation.
