  • Water-Year Summary reports summarize a year of hydrologic data in a printer-friendly format.
  • For water years 2014 onward, choose a water year and parameter and an on-demand Water-Year Summary report will be generated.
  • For water years 2006 through 2013, choose a water year and an Annual Water Data Report will be provided.
  • For water years 2005 and earlier, Annual Water Data Reports may be available in digital format.
  • Not all sites have reports available for every water year.

Sand and gravel aquifers (glaciated regions)
Pleistocene Series
LOCATION - Lat 44°39'17.14", long 92°41'42.52" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Goodhue County, MN, Hydrologic Unit 07040001,
REVISIONS HISTORY - Manual water level measurement on 06 Apr. 2017 at 14:50 CDT was determined to be inaccurate according to original field notes. This water level value was changed from 25.06 ft. BLS to 25.04 ft. BLS on 21 Mar. 2018.
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 37.27 ft. Upper casing diameter 2.01 in; top of first opening 32.16 ft, bottom of last opening 36.96 ft. The hole for PI16 was drilled with an 8.25-inch-diameter power auger to a depth of 37.4 feet. The well was constructed of a 4.80-foot-long, 2.04-inch-diameter, flush-threaded, 10-slot PVC screen, attached to 32.16 feet of 2.04-inch-diameter, flush-threaded, PVC well casing. The casing stuck up 3.06 feet above land surface on 06 May 2014. The open interval of the well was 32.16 - 36.96 feet below land surface and the well is 37.27 feet deep.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 699.17 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Measuring point: MP is casing, not protection post, 3.06 ft above land-surface datum, May 6, 2014 to present.
PERIOD OF RECORD - Water levels are recorded periodically from 06 May 2014 to the present. Hourly water levels were recorded from 01 October 2014 at 17:00 CDT to 17 Oct. 2017 at 15:00 CDT, except during the following periods:

06 Oct. 2016 at 13:00-19:00 CDT: transducer did not record data for unknown reason.
GAGE -

Continuous water level, water temperature, and battery voltage were measured with an OTT Orpheus Mini 0-4m pressure transducer. These data are recorded hourly by the same OTT Orpheus Mini pressure transducer, which has a data logger built into it. The data logger is housed inside of the 2-inch PVC well casing, which has an aluminum locking well cap on top of that. The gage is powered by 3 AA lithium batteries that are inside of the communications rod. Data is downloaded manually and no telemetry or phone line is wired into the gage.

The original OTT Orpheus Mini 0-4m pressure transducer was removed from the well on 17 Oct. 2017 at 15:03 CDT. No longer recording continuous WL and WT data in this well. Site has been discontinued from active monitoring network for the Prairie Island Indian Community.

COOPERATION - Well PI16 is operated by the U.S. Geological Survey in cooperation with the Prairie Island Indian Community. The monitoring well is part of a network of monitoring wells; used to collect water quality and water quantity data for the Prairie Island Indian Community.
