12365000 STILLWATER RIVER NEAR WHITEFISH, MT
LOCATION - Lat 48°19'08.59", long 114°23'13.77" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in NE 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.34, T.30 N., R.22 W., Flathead County, MT, Hydrologic Unit 17010210, on right bank 600 ft downstream from road bridge, 6.2 mi southwest of Whitefish, 14.8 mi upstream from Whitefish River, and at river mile 16.2.
DRAINAGE AREA - 558 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY -

WSP 1736: Drainage area.

The "Historic Peak" qualifier for the 1954 water year peak discharge value was replaced with the "Opportunistic Peak" qualifier on April 7, 2025, following a re-evaluation of the record. 

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October and November 1930 [monthly discharge only, published in Water Supply Paper (WSP) 1316], December 1930 to September 1950, October 1972 to September 1985, April 1986 to September 1999 (seasonal records only), October 1999 to September 30, 2006, discontinued.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Elevation of gage is 2,953.26 ft, referenced to the National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929.
REMARKS - Records are good except those for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Diversions for irrigation of about 200 acres upstream occur from station. U.S. Geological Survey satellite telemeter is located at the station. Several unpublished observations of water temperature and specific conductance were made during the year.
