This station is operated in cooperation with the City of Morganton and the North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources.

This gage on the Catawba River at Calvin, North Carolina has been active since July 1991.
The gage will be discontinued on October 1, 2009 unless a new funding partner to share in the cost of operating this gage can be identified.
