LOCATION - Lat 42°56'45", long 72°14'14" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Cheshire County, NH, Hydrologic Unit 01080201, on right bank, 450 ft downstream from Otter Brook Dam, 1.5 mi downstream of station 01158500, "Otter Brook near Keene", 2.2 mi northeast of City Hall in Keene, and 2.3 mi upstream from confluence with Minnewawa Brook to form "The Branch."
DRAINAGE AREA - 47.2 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Discharge records: May 1958 to September 1989, October 1995 to September 2008. Peak streamflow and miscellaneous discharge measurements: Water years 1959 to 2016. Miscellaneous discharge measurements only: Water years 2017 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder, crest-stage gage, and concrete control. Datum of gage is 658.65 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929 (levels by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers). Prior to September 29, 1933, nonrecording gage on highway bridge at same datum.
COOPERATION - U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District.
REMARKS - Flow regulated by Otter Brook Lake.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 667 cfs, April 9, 1987, gage height 8.62 ft. Estimated discharge including bypass flow around the gage through the emergency spillway was 752 cfs.
