SURFACE-WATER RECORDS

LOCATION.--Lat 41°10'12.0", long 74°39'23.84" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Frankford Township, Sussex County, NJ, Hydrologic Unit 02020007, at culvert on Roy Road in Roys, 0.5 mi southeast of intersection with County Route 565, 1.0 mi northeast of Pellettown, and 3.3 mi upstream of West Branch Papakating Creek.
DRAINAGE AREA.--18.1 mi2.
PERIOD OF RECORD.--Miscellaneous measurement, October 2004. Continuous-record discharge station, October 2014 to current year.
GAGE.--Water-stage, precipitation, and air temperature recorder with telemetry and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 410 ft above NAVD of 1988, from topographic map.
REMARKS.--Records fair, except for estimated discharges, which are poor.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--Maximum discharge, 202 ft3/s, Jan 18, 2015, although may have been higher during period of ice effect; maximum gage height, 8.59 ft, Mar 14, 2015, affected by backwater from ice; minimum discharge, 1.4 ft3/s, Sep 9, 2015.

The air temperature data for this station are temporary and will only be displayed for 120 days. Although the instrumentation is calibrated at least once/year, the temporary classification means that documented routine inspections and other quality assurance measures are not performed that would make the data acceptable for archival, retrieval, or future use in general scientific or interpretive studies.
