SURFACE-WATER RECORDS

LOCATION.--Lat 40°57'36", long 74°32'23" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Rockaway Township, Morris County, NJ, Hydrologic Unit 02030103, on left bank at Picatinny Arsenal, 50 ft downstream of bridge on Craine Road, 500 ft upstream from Picatinny Lake, and 0.55 mi downstream from Burnt Meadow Brook.
DRAINAGE AREA.--7.65 mi².
PERIOD OF RECORD.--Continuous-record discharge station, October 1982 to current year.
GAGE.--Water-stage recorder with telemetry and concrete control. Datum of gage is 712.54 ft above NGVD of 1929 (U.S. Army, Picatinny Arsenal, benchmark).
REMARKS.--Records fair, except for estimated discharges, which are poor. Some regulation by Lake Denmark and Green Pond.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--Maximum discharge, 455 ft³/s, Aug 28, 2011, gage height, 3.84 ft; minimum discharge, 0.19 ft³/s, Nov 23, 1998.
