SURFACE-WATER RECORDS

LOCATION.--Lat 40°54'52", long 74°16'14" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Wayne Township, Passaic County, NJ, Hydrologic Unit 02030103, at bridge on U.S. Route 202 in Mountain View, 0.1 mi downstream of Packanack Brook, and 1.3 mi upstream of mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA.--378 mi². (revised).
PERIOD OF RECORD.--Miscellaneous measurements, water years 1987-88, 2001-02, 2005, 2008-09. Continuous-record gage-height station, December 1992 to September 1997 and October 2014 to current year. Annual maximum discharge, October 2012 to September 2014.
REVISIONS HISTORY.--WDR US-2013: Drainage area.
GAGE.--Water-stage recorder with telemetry. Datum of gage is 156.50 ft above NGVD of 1929.
REMARKS.--Stage-discharge relationship affected by variable-stage backwater from the Passaic River 1.4 mi downstream. Annual peak data can be obtained by selecting Peak streamflow from the 'Available data for this site' drop-down menu above or by using this link.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--Maximum discharge, 6,040 ft³/s, May 2, 2014, gage height, 10.30 ft; maximum gage height, 10.88 ft, Dec 22, 2018; minimum discharge not determined.
