During winter months, cold and ice may
result in inaccurate real-time gage height and streamflow data.

upstream of bridge on Main Street in Glen Gardner, 1.0 mi downstream
from Alpaugh Brook, and 1.8 mi upstream from Spruce Run
PERIOD OF RECORD.--
March 1978 to September 1988, December 1991
to present. Prior to Sep 1, 2005 published at Spruce Run at Glen
Gardner (station 01396580). Data collected prior to Sep 1, 2005 has
been adjusted for the difference in drainage area between the two
Water-stage and air temperature recorder with telemetry
and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 378.35 ft above NAVD of 1988.
Prior to Sep 1, 2005, gage was located 1,300 ft upstream, at downstream
side of bridge on Sanatorium Road, at a datum of 389.10 ft above NGVD
of 1929 and drainage area of 11.3 mi2
Records fair, except for estimated discharges, which
are poor. There is indication of regulation from unknown source
upstream. Discharges above 1,800 ft3
/s from rating curve
extension on basis of logarithmic extrapolation.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--
Maximum discharge, 2,960
/s, Sep 28, 2011, gage height, 8.39 ft, from rating curve
extended above 1,800 ft3
/s on basis of logarithmic
extrapolation; minimum discharge, 0.80 ft3
/s, Sep 23, 1998,
adjusted for change in drainage area from site then in use.
The air temperature data for this station
are temporary and will only be displayed for 120 days. Although the
instrumentation is calibrated at least once/year, the temporary
classification means that documented routine inspections and other
quality assurance measures are not performed that would make the data
acceptable for archival, retrieval, or future use in general scientific
or interpretive studies.
