01411360 GREAT CHANNEL AT STONE HARBOR, NJ
LOCATION - Lat 39°03'25", long 74°45'54" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Stone Harbor Borough, Cape May County, NJ, Hydrologic Unit 02040302, on north side of bridge carrying Stone Harbor Boulevard (County Route 657) over Great Channel and into Stone Harbor, 3.6 mi southeast of Cape May Court House, and 3.9 mi southwest of Avalon, and 0.4 mi northwest of Stone Harbor.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Annual maximum tide, water years 1964 to 1977 and 1979 to 1999. Continuous-record tide gage, October 1977 to May 1978 and March 2000 to current year. Unpublished fragmentary gage-height record, May 1997 to February 2000.
GAGE - Tide elevation and water temperature recorder with telemetry and tidal crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is at 0.00 ft NAVD of 1988. From October 1964 to September 1999, datum of tidal crest-stage gage was 0.00 ft NGVD of 1929. From October 1977 to May 1978, tide elevation recorder was located at south side of bridge and datum of gage at 0.00 ft NGVD of 1929. Data published to NGVD of 1929 can be adjusted to NAVD of 1988 by subtracting 1.31 ft. Online annual tidal peaks have been adjusted to present datum.
