USGS 01493000 UNICORN BRANCH NEAR MILLINGTON, MD

LOCATION.--Lat 39°14'59.8", long 75°51'41.4", Queen Annes County, MD, Hydrologic Unit 02060002,
   at downstream side of bridge on State Highway 313, 0.9 mi upstream from mouth, and 1.4 mi
   southwest of Millington.
DRAINAGE AREA.--19.7 mi2.
PERIOD OF RECORD.--January 1948 to September 2005, October 2006 to current year.
REVISIONS HISTORY.--WSP 1382: 1952(P). WRD MD-DE-95-1: Drainage area.
GAGE.--Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 2.78 ft above North American
   Vertical Datum of 1988. Prior to October 1, 2013, gage located on right bank, 60 ft upstream
   at same gage datum.
REMARKS.--Occasional regulation at low and medium flow by Unicorn Lake Dam upstream from station.
   U.S. Geological Survey satellite data-collection platform at station. Water-quality records for
   some prior periods have been collected at this location.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--Maximum discharge, 2,600 ft³/s, Sept. 16, 1999, gage height, 9.40 ft;
   minimum discharge, 0.00 ft³/s, no flow for part of each day on June 13, 14, 1965, and Jan. 6, 7, 10,
   13-16, 20, 21, 23, 24, 27, 31, Feb. 2, 3, 14, 20, 1997, caused by regulation at Unicorn Lake Dam.
COOPERATION.--Funding for the operation of this station is provided by the Maryland Geological Survey 
   and the U.S. Geological Survey.
