Between “near Boise” and “at Boise” gaging stations (prior to 1955 water year published as “between Dowling Ranch and at Boise gaging stations”), (1955-82, published as \223between near Boise and at Boise gaging stations\224). Ten principal canals and several small farm laterals divert water from Boise River for irrigation. Records of total diversion during April to September for each canal for years 1919-46, combined daily diversion covering period April to September for years 1947-67, combined daily diversions for water years 1968-75, and daily flow of New York Canal, February 1939 to October 1948, are published in reports of Geological Survey. Records of daily diversion for each canal from 1916-83 are on file in office of the Idaho Department of Water Resources. Prior to October 1967, there was no record of October to March diversions, except for New York Canal. Winter diversions generally represent flow through New York Canal to fill Lake Lowell. Records show summation of discharge for the recorded diversions. Staff gages on canals are read daily or several times weekly, and discharge measurements are made weekly. Records provided by watermaster for Boise River.
