referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Morris County, NJ,
Hydrologic Unit 02030103, at downstream side of bridge on
Paterson-Hamburg Turnpike in Riverdale, 0.6 mi upstream from Wanaque
River, and 2.8 mi upstream of mouth.

PERIOD OF RECORD.--Annual maximum gage, water years 1981-82.
Occasional low-flow measurements, water years 1963, 1998, 2001-02,
2005. Continuous-record discharge station, water years 1993-97, and
August 2011 to current year.
GAGE.--Water-stage recorder with telemetry and crest-stage gage.
Datum of gage is 187.90 ft above NGVD of 1929. Prior to August, 2011
gage located on right bank 5 ft upstream of bridge on Paterson-Hamburg
Turnpike at same datum.
REMARKS.--Records fair, except for estimated discharges, which
are poor. Flow regulated by Canistear, Oak Ridge, Clinton,
Charlotteburg, and Echo Lake Reservoirs. Water diverted at
Charlotteburg Reservoir for municipal supply for city of Newark.
