USGS 13129500 CEDAR CREEK NR MACKAY ID

LOCATION.--Lat 43° 57'58", long 113° 34'43"(Rev.)(NAD83), in NW1/4 SW1/4 sec.2, T.7 N., R.24 E., Custer County, Hydrologic Unit 17040218, Mackay quad., immediately downstream from diversion dam of Clark ditch (sta 13129000), 75 ft downstream from the powerhouse of Mackay Light and Power Co., and 4 mi northeast of Mackay.

DRAINAGE AREA.--8.31 mi2, revised.

PERIOD OF RECORD.--May 1920 to October 1922 (published as "below power plant") (discontinued). Records from Oct. 20, 1911 to Mar. 31, 1913 are available for station 500 ft below forks and 1 mi above this site (see sta 13128500).

GAGE.--Staff gage. Elevation of gage is 6,880 ft above NGVD of 1929, from topographic map. Prior to July 30, 1921, at datum 0.81 ft higher.

REMARKS.--Powerplant diversion dam, 1 mi upstream, causes only slight diurnal regulation for low flows. "Clark ditch near Mackay" diverts water above station for irrigation of lands below station. The combined flow of Cedar Creek and Clark ditch represent the total flow of Cedar Creek at this point.

COOPERATION.--Gage height record and some discharge measurements furnished by water commissioner for Big Lost River.

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--Maximum discharge observed, 297 ft3/s June 7, 1921, gage height, 2.8 ft; minimum observed, 0.4 ft3/s Nov. 22 to Dec. 1, 1921, gage height, 0.18 ft.
