LOCATION.--Lat 43° 04'12", long 114° 18'28"(Rev.)(NAD83), in SE1/4 SW1/4 sec.15, T.4 S., R.18 E., Lincoln County, Kinzie Butte quad., Hydrologic Unit 17040219, 900 ft downstream from North Gooding Canal, 14 mi downstream from Magic Dam, and 11 mi northeast of Shoshone.
DRAINAGE AREA.--1,780 mi2, approximately.
PERIOD OF RECORD.--January 1911 to February 1939 (discontinued). No flow in water years 1929, 1931, 1934-37. No flow Oct. 1, 1938 to Feb. 28, 1939.
GAGE.--Staff gage. Elevation of gage is 4,315 ft, by barometer. Prior to July 8, 1918, staff gage at datum 6.0 ft lower. July 8, 1918 to July 4, 1920, staff gage, and July 5, 1920 to Sept. 15, 1927, water-stage recorder, at present datum.
REMARKS.--Several diversions for irrigation. North Gooding, Richfield and Lincoln canals divert water between station and Magic Dam. Since completion of Lincoln Canal in spring of 1925, which diverts 7 mi upstream, most of river flow has been diverted above station.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--Maximum discharge, 4,560 ft3/s about Apr. 22, 1938,
gage height, 9.63 ft, from high-water marks; no flow for long periods.
