USGS 13244000 NF PAYETTE RIVER AT VAN WYCK ID

LOCATION.--Lat 44° 31'25", long 116° 03'43"(Rev.)(NAD83), in NW1/4 sec.26, T.14 N., R.3 E., Valley County, Cascade quad., Hydrologic Unit 17050123, at highway bridge 0.5 mi upstream from Willow Creek, 0.5 mi north of Van Wyck, and 2 mi northwest of Cascade.

DRAINAGE AREA.--614 mi2, revised.

PERIOD OF RECORD.--June 1912 to June 1916, June 1920 to November 1924 (discontinued).

GAGE.--Staff gage. Datum of gage is 4,760.93 ft above mean sea level, datum of 1912 survey by Long Valley Power Co. Prior to May 5, 1913, staff gage at datum 0.6 ft higher.

REMARKS.--Flow partly regulated by dam at outlet of Payette Lake. Many diversions from tributaries for irrigation above station. Site inundated since Cascade dam was finished in May 1949.

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--Maximum discharge observed, 8,700 ft3/s May 20, 1921, gage height, 8.6 ft; minimum observed, 92 ft3/s Oct. 25, 1924, gage height, 1.56 ft.
