CREEK NEAR UNION CITY, PA.
LOCATION.--Lat 41`55'13", long
79`53'59", Erie County, Hydrologic Unit 05010004, in tower at
left center of Union City Dam on French Creek, 1.4 mi upstream from
South Branch French Creek, and 3.2 mi northwest of Union City.
DRAINAGE AREA.--220 square miles.
GAGE.--Water-stage recorder. Elevation of gage is sea
level. satellite telemetry at station.
PERIOD OF RECORD.--July 1970 to current year.
COOPERATION.--Funding for the operation of this
station is provided by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Pittsburgh
District.
REMARKS.--As of April 7, 2010 the elevations for the
Union City Reservoir are referenced to North American Vertical Datum of
1988. Data retrieved from the database prior to April 7, 2010 were
referenced to National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929.
The 15-minute precipitation data for this station are
temporary and will only be displayed for 120 days. Time series
of 1-hour or cumulative daily values will NOT be available for
retrieval following the 120-day display period. Although the
instrumentation is calibrated at least once a year, the temporary
classification means that documented routine inspections and other
quality assurance measures are not performed that would make the
data acceptable for archival, retrieval, or future use in general
scientific or interpretive studies. |
