NOTICE (09/13/2021) -- Data collection at this streamgage will be discontinued on 09/30/2021.
Although historic data will remain accessible, no new data will be collected unless one or more new funding partners are found.

LOCATION.--Lat 39°00'37.8", long 75°27'29.9" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Kent County DE, 
   Hydrologic Unit 02040207, on right bank, 300 ft downstream of Route 1 bridge, 0.2 mi downstream of 
   confluence of Spring Creek, 0.5 mi east of Frederica, and 7.4 mi upstream from mouth.  
DRAINAGE AREA.--82.8 mi2.
PERIOD OF RECORD.--April 4, 1997 to September 30, 1999 (stage only); September 17-30, 2002, (located at 
   upstream side of Route 1 highway bridge), (stage only); June 2007 to December 2008, June 2010 to 
   current year.
REVISIONS HISTORY.--WDR-US-2013: 2011-2012 (DO).
GAGE.--Water-stage recorder and velocity meter. Datum of gage is 0.00 ft above North American Vertical 
   Datum of 1988. Prior to October 1, 2016, at datum 0.78 ft higher (NGVD29).
REMARKS.--U.S. Geological Survey satellite data-collection platform at station.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--Maximum recorded elevation, 5.17 ft, Aug. 28, 2011; minimum recorded
   elevation, -4.33 ft, Nov. 22, 2016. Maximum discharge, 4,800 ft3/s, Aug. 28, 2011; minimum discharge,
   -5,770 ft3/s, May 12, 2008.
COOPERATION.--Funding for this station is provided by the Kent County Levy Court, and the U.S. Geological
   Survey.
This station managed by the MD-DE-DC Water Science Center Dover office.
