LOCATION--Lat 42o22'08", long 71o03'42", Suffolk County, Hydrologic Unit 01090001, at New Charles River Dam, Boston, MA.
DRAINAGE AREA--311 mi2, excludes 23.6 mi2 drained by Stony Brook, from which flow is diverted for municipal supply for Cambridge.
PERIOD OF RECORD--September 2002 to current year.
GAGE--Data Collection Platform with telephone telemeter. Stage sensor for Charles River and Boston Harbor.
DATUM--Datum of gages are from the Massachusetts Metropolitan District Commission base, which is 105.62 ft higher than NGVD 1929.
REMARKS--Charles River stage affected by operation of the New Charles River Dam and Boston Harbor stage affected by tide.
COOPERATION BY--Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation, Division of Planning and Engineering
