LOCATION.--Lat 40°53'10", long 74°33'36" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Dover Town, Morris County, NJ, Hydrologic Unit 02030103, on left bank, 100 ft upstream from bridge on Warren Street in Dover, 0.4 mi downstream of Jackson Brook, and 4.0 mi west of Denville.
DRAINAGE AREA.--52.1 mi².
PERIOD OF RECORD.--Annual maximum gage, water years 1981-94, 1999 to 2012. Continuous-record discharge station, February 2012 to current year.
GAGE.--Water-stage recorder with telemetry and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 561.83 ft above NGVD of 1929.
REMARKS.--Records fair, except for estimated discharges, which are poor.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--Maximum discharge, 3,820 ft³/s, Aug 28, 2011, gage height, 9.35 ft, from crest-stage gage; minimum discharge, 6.6 ft³/s, Oct 3-4, 2014.
