DRAINAGE AREA.--52.4 mi2. PERIOD OF RECORD.--October 1988 to current year. REVISIONS HISTORY.--WDR MD-DE-DC-04-1: 2003 (P). GAGE.--Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is -1.12 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. REMARKS.--Low flows augmented at times by inflow from Hoopes Reservoir located 5.7 mi upstream from gage on unnamed tributary to Red Clay Creek, capacity 2,000,000,000 gal. Water from Brandywine Creek is pumped into Hoopes Reservoir and is then released into Red Clay Creek during periods of low flow. Water from Red Clay Creek is used for municipal supply. U.S. Geological Survey satellite data-collection platform at station. EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--Maximum discharge, 17,400 ft3/s, Sep. 15, 2003, gage height, 25.52 ft; minimum discharge, 6.8 ft3/s, Sep. 12, 2002.
