LOCATION - Lat 44°51'30.87", long 68°06'11.41" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Hancock County, ME, Hydrologic Unit 01050002, on left bank 600 ft upstream from confluence with the East Branch Bear Brook and 0.7 mi upstream from the mouth of Bear Brook at Bear Pond.
DRAINAGE AREA - 0.06 mi². Drainage Area (station description): Derived from automated delineation using 2-meter lidar data provided by USGS 3D Elevation Program, dated 01/01/2020, using North American Datum of 1983 Albers projection and North American Vertical Datum of 1988. REMARKS - Records good, except for flows between 0.14 ft³/s and 0.050 ft³/s, which are fair, flows below 0.050 ft³/s, periods of ice effect, Jan. 4, 7, 15-21, 23, Feb. 4-5, 12, 19, 21-24, Feb. 27 to Mar. 2, periods of doubtful stage-discharge relation, Oct. 2-3, Nov. 7-10, 12-17, 22-25, July 7, 12-18, 22-24, July 31 to Aug. 2, Sept. 10-11, 15-16, 27-28, and periods of no gage-height record, Mar. 28, Apr. 11 and July 10-11, which are poor. Satellite telemeter at station.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 16.4 ft³/s, Mar. 9, 1998, gage height, 6.75 ft; no flow, Aug. 1 and 2, 1991 Aug. 27 to Sept. 1, 1993, and Aug. 23-27, Aug. 29 to Sept. 10, and Sept. 12-14, 1999.
