LOCATION - Lat 44°19'45", long 69°03'39" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Waldo County, ME, Hydrologic Unit 01050002, on left bank on downstream side of State Route 52 highway bridge at Lincolnville, and 1.3 mi upstream of Black Brook.
DRAINAGE AREA - 14.4 mi².
PERIOD OF RECORD - DISCHARGE: June 1998 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Elevation of gage is 135 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929, from topographic map.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 1,680 ft³/s, Apr. 7, 2009, gage height, 6.45 ft, from rating curve extended above 900 ft³/s; no flow Aug. 17 to Sept. 24, 2001.
PERIOD OF DAILY RECORD - WATER TEMPERATURE: October 2010 to September 2015 (discontinued).
INSTRUMENTATION - In-situ thermistor located on left bank at downstream side of bridge and about 0.5 feet above river bed.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF DAILY RECORD - WATER TEMPERATURE: Maximum, 27.2°C, July 20, 2013; minimum, -0.1°C, on many days during winter periods in water years 2011-2015.
