LOCATION - Lat 43°00'53", long 71°38'31" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Hillsborough County, NH, Hydrologic Unit 01070002, on right bank upstream from highway bridge, 1.4 mi upstream from mouth, and 2.2 mi west of Goffstown.
DRAINAGE AREA - 104 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Discharge: July 1940 to September 1978, June 2008 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 308.28 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988.
COOPERATION - New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services and USGS Groundwater and Streamflow Information Program.
REMARKS - WATER YEARS 2014-23: Records good except those for estimated discharges, which are poor.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge for flood of May 2006, 7,180 ft³/s, May 14, 2006, gage height, 11.96 ft, from floodmarks. Maximum discharge for flood of April 2007, e8,880 ft³/s, April 16, 2007, gage height, 14.02 ft, from floodmarks [e, estimated].
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 4,940 ft³/s, March 15, 2010, gage height 10.10 ft. Maximum gage height, 14.33 ft, February 11, 1970, ice jam. Minimum discharge, 2.4 ft³/s, August 20-22, 1966.
