LOCATION - Lat 43°01'00", long 71°33'04" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Hillsborough County, NH, Hydrologic Unit 01070002, on left bank, 300 ft upstream from Henry Bridge Road bridge, 0.3 mi upstream from Harry Brook, 0.5 mi southwest of Center Street, Tirrell Hill Road, and Center Street intersection in Grasmere, 0.9 mi downstream from Glen Lake, and 2.5 mi east of High Street (NH 13), Elm Street, Main Street (NH 13/NH 114), and North Mast Street (NH 114) intersection in Goffstown.
DRAINAGE AREA - 202 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Discharge records: October 1939 to September 1978 and October 2017 to current year. Partial-record station: October 1978 to September 2017. Peak Streamflow: Water years 1936, 1938, 1940 to 1978, 1983 to current year. Miscellaneous Discharge measurements; Water years 1979 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. The datum of the gage is 173.98 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Prior to Dec 22, 1939, staff gage at same site and datum.
COOPERATION - U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District.
REMARKS - WATER YEAR 2018-2023: Records good except for estimated discharges, which are poor. Flow regulated by Everett Lake 10 mi upstream since 1962 and by Glen Lake since 1966. Diversion from Hopkinton Lake on the Contoocook River to Everett Lake during periods of high flow in March 1968, April 1969, March 1977, March 1979, May-June 1984, April 1987, March-April 2003, April 2003, April 2005, October 2005, May 2006, April 2007, and March-April 2010. Satellite gage-height telemeter at station.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge since at least 1733, 21,900 ft³/s Sept. 21, 1938, gage height, 17.52 ft, from floodmarks, by computation of flow over dam. Flood of March 19, 1936, reached a discharge of 19,900 ft³/s, by computation of flow over dam.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 11,100 ft³/s, Apr. 16, 2007, gage height, 13.05 ft.
