01135300 SLEEPERS RIVER (SITE W-5) NEAR ST. JOHNSBURY, VT
LOCATION - Lat 44°26'07", long 72°02'20" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Caledonia County, VT, Hydrologic Unit 01080102, on right bank, just upstream of Emerson Falls, 0.6 mi upstream of US 2 bridge, 1.5 mi northwest of Post Office in St. Johnsbury, and 2.7 mi above mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA - 42.9 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY -

WDR-US-2011: 1998(M). The maximum discharge for water year 1998 has been revised to 6,390 ft³/s, Aug. 12, 1998, gage height, 7.11 ft.

Discharges for the period Dec. 20, 2018 to Jan. 3, 2019 were revised on Jan. 20, 2021.

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Discharge records: October 1990 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and concrete control. Datum of gage is 641.27 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988.
COOPERATION - Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation and USGS Groundwater and Streamflow Information Program.
REMARKS - WATER YEARS 2014-2023: Records good except for estimated daily discharges, which are poor.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 9,360 ft³/s, May 27, 2011, gage height 8.56 ft (from floodmarks), from rating curve extended above 1,100 ft³/s on basis of slope-area measurement of peak flow. Minimum discharge, 0.98 ft³/s, August 16, 2001.
