LOCATION - Lat 41°25'13.49", long 72°54'09.57" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, New Haven County, CT, Hydrologic Unit 01100004, 150 ft downstream from bridge on Mount Carmel Ave., 0.4 mi downstream from Eatons Brook, and 2.5 mi north of Hamden.
DRAINAGE AREA - 24.5 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR US-2012-1: 1979, 1980, 1996 (P).
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1968 to September 1970, October 1978 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder, crest-stage gage, and broad-crested concrete weir. Datum of gage is 82.57 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. October 1, 1968 to September 30, 1970, at site 150 ft upstream at datum 0.73 ft higher. Satellite telemetry at station.

  • EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - The maximum peak flow was 5,580 ft³/s was obtained from the rating curve extended above 870 ft³/s based on contracted-opening measurement of peak flow 0.7 mi. downstream. The maximum peak stage of 9.53 ft. was from flood marks. Minimum discharge: 0.15 ft³/s, Sept. 12, 13, 1995.
