LOCATION - Lat 41°23'01.69", long 73°09'59.90" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, New Haven County, CT, Hydrologic Unit 01100005, on left bank, 0.2 mi downstream from dam of First Light Power Resources at Stevenson, Fairfield County, 0.2 mi upstream from Eightmile Brook, and at mile 19.2.
DRAINAGE AREA - 1,544 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 711: 1929(M). WSP 1231: 1951. WSP 1301: 1933-34(M), 1936-37. WDR CT-83-1: Drainage area.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS

GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 24.98 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929 (levels by Corps of Engineers) (23.66 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988). Satellite telemetry at station.
REMARKS -

Water Years 2014 - 2023: Records good.

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - The maximum peak flow of 75,800 ft³/s was obtained from the rating curve extended above 35,000 ft³/s on basis of computation of peak flow at Stevenson and Derby Dams and slope-area measurement at gage heights 21.5 and 23.5 ft. The maximum peak stage of 24.5 ft. was from flood marks. Minimum discharge: practically no flow at times, the result of regulation.
