LOCATION - Lat 41°10'47", long 73°13'10" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Fairfield County, CT, Hydrologic Unit 01100006, on left bank, on floodwall, at corner of Renwick Drive and Renwick Place, Bridgeport.
DRAINAGE AREA - 10.6 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1977 to September 2017, January 2020 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 4.54 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Prior to 7/1/2024 datum of gage was 5.44 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Prior to June 22, 1988, at site 1,300 ft downstream at datum 3.06 ft lower. Satellite telemetry at station.
REMARKS -

Prior to June 22, 1988, stage sometimes affected by tide.

  • Water Year 2024: Records good below 2.6 cfs and above 36 cfs, records fair between 2.6 and 36 cfs, records during periods of estimated discharge are poor. 
  • Water Year 2020-2023: Records good except during periods of estimated discharge, which are poor.
  • Water Year 2016-2017: Records good except for periods of estimated discharges and discharges below 1.0 ft³/s, which are fair.
  • Water Year 2014-2015: Records fair except for periods of estimated discharges, which are poor.

    EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - The maximum peak flow of 3,020 ft³/s on September 1, 2021 was obtained from the rating curve. The maximum stage of 12.62 ft. was obtained from the crest stage gage.
